How a Professional Skimboarder Built a Wakesurfing Charter Company in Southwest Florida

For years, the idea lived only in my head.

As a professional skimboarder, I've spent most of my life chasing waves. Traveling for contests, hunting down swells, introducing friends to the feeling of riding water. Being on the water was always where I felt most at home.

But there was one problem. Southwest Florida doesn't always have waves.

That's exactly where the idea for Saraboca Wave Co. was born.

The Idea: Wakesurfing on Demand in Southwest Florida

I wanted to create a way for people to experience the feeling of surfing whenever they wanted. No tides, no swell forecasts, no waiting on the weather. Wakesurfing behind a surf boat makes that possible anywhere there's calm water, and Southwest Florida has no shortage of beautiful waterways.

After months of planning, paperwork, insurance applications, business licenses, and more than a few late nights, I finally took delivery of the first boat. A Varatti surf boat.

I remember standing there looking at it and thinking this wasn't just an idea anymore. It was real.

From Passion to Licensed Wakesurf Charter Company

What started as conversations with friends had turned into a fully licensed wakesurf charter company serving Englewood, Venice, Sarasota, Boca Grande, and the surrounding Southwest Florida communities.

Most people see the fun part. The surfing, the sunshine, the social media clips. They don't see the hours spent building a website, filing paperwork, creating a brand, designing logos, studying regulations, and figuring out how to turn a passion into a business.

The boat wasn't just another purchase. It represented years of dreaming, saving, planning, and taking a risk most people only talk about.

The mission from day one has been simple. Create a fun, safe, and unforgettable wakesurfing experience for anyone who wants to get on the water.

Looking back, February 2025 wasn't really about buying a boat. It was about proving that an idea could become a reality. And it was only the beginning.
